I want to be in the present moment.
Being truly present in the here and now starts with being aware of what you are feeling, thinking, and doing. When you can do this without any judgment, we call it mindfulness. Maintain awareness of your thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment. When you consciously observe what's happening around you, you create a new perspective on the experience. You become aware of your body's signals. Recognize which events create tension, examine your habitual respons, and learn new ways to deal with it. Discover how meditation and breathing exercises can contribute to reducing your tension.
Are you constantly getting ahead of yourself? Do you ignore the signals your body is sends you? Step into the now! Research shows that when people feel powerful; they are more present: they are more connected to their own thoughts and feelings. Consequently, that helps to be better connected to the thoughts and feelings of others: more enthusiasm, more trust, and more involvement.
By nature, people have the tendency to evade their feelings, especially when they are unpleasant. Being present – really being present – in the here and now requires you to also give attention to those unpleasant feelings. All the exercises in this training will help you to become more mindful and to really live in the now. Through self-awareness, you'll be able to get a more complete picture of yourself. And if you can do that for yourself, you'll also get better at it with other people. So, how present are you? You'll figure that out during this learning journey. Don't miss it!
